Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in May 2011
In May 2011, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents in abroad was 333.2 thousand or 2.6% more than the number of the trips in May 2010. In May 2011, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 635.3 thousand or 7.1% more than the number of trips in the corresponding month of 2010.
Quarterly Labour Cost Index, First Quarter of 2011
Preliminary data for first quarter of 2011 indicated that total hourly labour cost rose by 6.8% compared to the first quarter of 2010.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in May 2011
The consumer price index (CPI) in May 2011 compared to April 2011 was 100.0%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.0%.
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) in May 2011 compared to April 2011 was 100.1%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.1%.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - April 2011 (preliminary data)
In the period January - April 2011 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 48.6% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and exceeded 4.9 billion levs while the imports increased by 31.6% and reached to 5.7 billion levs.
In the period January - April 2011 the total value of the exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 12.5 billion levs and compared to the corresponding period of 2010 the exports increased by 50.4% while the total value of the imported goods was for 13.5 billion levs and increased by 27.4%.
Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - March 2011 (preliminary data)
In the period January - March 2011 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 56.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 5.7 billion levs while the imports increased by 24.0% and also amounted to 5.7 billion levs.
In March 2011 the exports to the EU increased by 56.2% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and exceeded 2.0 billion levs while the imports increased by 16.7% and amounted to 2.1 billion levs.
Gross Domestic Product for the First Quarter of 2011
In the first quarter of 2011 GDP at current prices amounts to 15 903 million levs. In Euro terms GDP reaches to 8 131 million euro or 1 084.4 euro per person. According to the seasonally adjusted data, the GDP growth rate in the first quarter of 2011 is 0.6% compared with the fourth quarter of 2010 and 3.4% compared with the same quarter of the previous year.
Construction Production Indices in April 2011
According to the preliminary data of the NSI, in April 2011 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data, was 2.7% below the level recorded the previous month.
Industrial Production Indices in April 2011
The preliminary data showed that the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted increased by 1.5% in April 2011 as compared to March 2011. The working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 9.4% as compared to the same month of 2010.
Household Income, Expenditure and Consumption during the First Quarter of 2011
The average quarterly total income average per household member during the first quarter of 2011 is 868 Levs or by 2.1% less compared to the same quarter of 2010.

347 establishments for hospital aid with 48 944 beds are functioning in the country at the end of 2010. The number of hospitals is 313 with 45 842 beds. The number of out-patient health establishments is 1 613 with 938 beds and other health establishments are 183 with 4 570 beds.
