Tourist Trips and Tourism-related Expenditure of the Population in the Second Quarter of 2011
By preliminarily data, 1 010.7 thousand Bulgarian residents were travelled to the country or abroad in the second quarter of 2011. A person of 15 years and over spent on the average 168.9 BGN for its private domestic trip and 652.7 BGN for outbound trip.
Indices of producer prices and means of production in agriculture, second quarter in 2011
The index of producer prices in agriculture increases by 36.0% in the second quarter of 2011 as compared to the same quarter 2010. Increases were registered in the crop production by 56.2%, and in the livestock – by 15.0% compared with the corresponding quarter of previous year.
The index of prices of means of production used in agriculture in the second quarter of 2011 is 10.2% above the same quarter of 2010.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments for the period April - June 2011
In the second quarter of 2011, 3 226 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments in the second quarter of 2011 was 4 524.0 thousand and rose by 760.9 thousand (20.2%) compared to same period of 2010.
Gross Domestic Product for the Second Quarter of 2011 – Flash Estimates
According to the seasonally adjusted flash estimates, the GDP growth rate in the second quarter of 2011 is 1.9%, compared to the second quarter of 2010.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in July 2011
The consumer price index (CPI) in July 2011 compared to June 2011 was 100.0%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.0%.
The harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) in July 2011 compared to June 2011 was 100.4%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.4%.
Newly Built Residential Buildings and Dwellings Completed in the Second Quarter of 2011
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute, in the second quarter of 2011 the newly built residential buildings were 742 and compared to the respectively quarter of 2010 increased by 13.1%. The newly built dwellings in them decreased by 26.2% and their number was 3 497.
Employees under Labour Contract and Average Wages and Salaries, Second Quarter of 2011
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) at the end of June 2011 the number of employees under labour contract increased by 2.3% as compared to the end of March 2011 and reached to 2.20 millions. In second quarter of 2011 in comparison with the first quarter of 2011 the average monthly wages and salaries increased by 4.2% getting 699 levs.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - June 2011 (preliminary data)
In the period January - June 2011 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 35.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and exceeded 7.2 billion levs while the imports increased by 27.8% and reached to 9.0 billion levs
In the period January - June 2011 the total value of the exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 18.8 billion levs and compared to the corresponding period of 2010 the exports increased by 40.3% while the total value of all imported goods was 21.1 billion levs and increased by 23.3%.
Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - May 2011 (preliminary data)
In the period January - May 2011 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 48.7% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 9.6 billion levs while the imports increased by 24.3% and amounted to 10.1 billion levs.
In May 2011 the exports to the EU increased by 38.5% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and exceeded 2.0 billion levs while the imports increased by 22.1% and amounted to 2.3 billion levs.
Construction Production Indices in June 2011
According to the preliminary data of the NSI, in June 2011 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.5% below the level of the previous month.
