Gross Domestic Product for the Second Quarter of 2011
In the second quarter of 2011 GDP at current prices amounts to 18 804 million levs. In Euro terms GDP reaches to 9 614.3 million euro or 1 284.1 euro per person. According to the seasonally adjusted data, the GDP growth rate in the second quarter of 2011 is 0.3% compared to the first quarter of 2011 and 2.0% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Household Income, Expenditure and Consumption during the Second Quarter of 2011
The average quarterly total income average per household member during the second quarter of 2011 is 940 Levs or by 3.8% more compared to the same quarter of 2010. The main part of this income (82.5%) is received from wages and salaries and pensions.
The total expenditure per household member during the second quarter of 2011 is 870 Levs and it increases by 8.2% in relation to the same quarter of 2010. Expenditure on food and housing (energy, fuel and water) has the greatest share in forming the total expenditure and constitute 49.5% of total expenditure.
The consumption of main food products average per household member capita doesn’t change during the second quarter of 2011 compared to the second quarter of 2010.
Foreign Direct Investments and Expenditure on Acquisition of Tangible Fixed Assets, 2010
According to preliminary data the foreign direct investments in non-financial sector as of 31.12.2010 amounted to EUR 22 119 million or by 8.2% more as compared to 2009.
According to preliminary data in 2010 the actual expenditure on acquisition of tangible fixed assets in all sectors of the economy reached 16 317 million BGN and fell by 23.3% than the previous year.
Activity of Non Financial Enterprises for 2010 (preliminary data)
According to the preliminary data 315 819 non-financial enterprises have submitted their annual reports for 2010 at the National Statistical Institute, employing 1 934 544 persons, generating 32 138 million BGN of value added and making 12 776 million BGN gross investments in tangible goods.
Producer Price Indices in Industry, July 2011
Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in July 2011 increased by 0.7% compared to the previous month, while compared to the same month of 2010 the domestic prices grew by 8.4%. Total Producer Price Index rose by 0.9% compared to the previous month, compared to the same month of 2010 the prices went up by 9.4%.
Business Conjuncture, August 2011
In August 2011 the total business climate indicator increases by 1.1 percentage points compared to its level from the previous month. In industry and retail trade a better business climate is observed, while in construction and service sector a certain deterioration of the business conjuncture is recorded. To reach the long-term average level of the indicator still remains 8.8 percentage points.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in July 2011
In July 2011 the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents in abroad was 378.3 thousand, which was 6.3% more than the number of the trips in July 2010. In July 2011, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 609.9 thousand or 2.6% more than the number of trips in the corresponding month of 2010.
Goods and Passengers Carried and Transport Performance by Mode of Transport in the Second Quarter of 2011
According to preliminary data during the second quarter of 2011 in comparison with the correspondence period in 2010 the transported goods rose with 3 111.3 thousand tons or by 13.5% while the transport performance measured in tonne-kilometres drops by 12.1%, due to the decreased volume of the carriages by the international maritime transport. The transported passengers in the second quarter of 2011 were by 3.5% less than the corresponding quarter of previous year, while the transport performance registered an increase by 3.1%.
Main Labour Force Survey Results, Second Quarter 2011
In the second quarter of 2011 the employment rate for population aged 15 - 64 was 58.2%, by 2.0 percentage points lower than in the second quarter of 2010. For the same period the unemployment rate went up by 1.2 percentage points to 11.2%.
