In the period January - September 2015 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 2.4% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 12.3 Billion BGN while the imports decreased by 5.8% and added up to 13.9 Billion BGN.

In the period January - September 2015 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 34.0 Billion BGN and compared to the corresponding period of 2014 the exports grew by 6.6% while the total value of all imported goods added up to 38.1 Billion BGN and increased by 1.2%.

According to the preliminary data, in September 2015 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.3% below the level of the previous month. In September 2015 the working day adjusted index of production in construction decreased by 2.7% in comparison with the same month of 2014.

According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in September 2015 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices decreased by 0.2% compared to the previous month.

According to the preliminary data the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, decreased by 1.1% in September 2015 as compared to August 2015. In September 2015 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 0.6% in comparison with the same month of 2014.

According to preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the third quarter of 2015 the number of newly built residential buildings was 600 and the newly built dwellings in them was 2 534. Compared to the third quarter of 2014 the buildings were by 28 more (or by 4.9%) and the newly built dwellings in them increased by 67 or by 9.0%. 

In October 2015 the total consumer confidence indicator preserves its July level.

In the third quarter of 2015, the municipal authorities issued building permits for construction of 1 154 residential buildings with 4 670 dwellings, of 40 administrative buildings/offices and 1 097 other buildings. The construction of 741 residential buildings with 3 006 dwellings, of 25 administrative buildings/offices and 457 other buildings was started.

In August 2015 compared to July 2015 an increase of the production of solid fuels - by 11.7%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 0.6%, and transport diesel - by 1.0%, is reported. At the same time a decrease of the production of liquefied petroleum gases - by 10.0%, natural gas - by 16.7%, and electricity - by 3.0%, is reported.

In August 2015 compared to July 2015 an increase of the deliveries of solid fuels - by 11.7%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 40.0%, and natural gas - by 1.6%, is reported. At the same time a decrease of the deliveries of unleaded motor gasoline - by 9.3%, transport diesel - by 2.6%, and electricity - by 2.7%, is reported. 

Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in September 2015 decreased by 0.1% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2014 the domestic prices fell by 2.1%. Total Producer Price Index in September 2015 declined by 0.2% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2014 the prices went down by 3.3%. 

In 2014, the total amount of expenditure on research and development activity (R&D) was 656.1 million BGN which was 25.8% more than the previous year.
