Tourist Trips and Tourism-related Expenditure of the Population in the Fourth Quarter of 2011
By preliminarily data of the National Statistical Institute, 844.3 thousand Bulgarian residents travelled to the country or abroad in the fourth quarter of 2011.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments for the period October - December 2011
In the fourth quarter of 2011 the total number of nights spent in all accommodation establishments amount to 1 617.0 thousand as preserving the level from the same period of 2010 is observed.
Main Labour Force Survey Results, Fourth Quarter 2011
In the fourth quarter of 2011 the employment rate for population aged 15 - 64 was 58.7% (by 0.3 percentage points lower than in the fourth quarter of 2010). For the same period the unemployment rate went up by 0.2 percentage points to 11.4%.
Indices of producer prices and means of production in agriculture, fourth quarter in 2011
The index of producer prices in agriculture increases by 3.4% in the fourth quarter of 2011 as compared to the same quarter 2010. Increases were registered in the crop production by 3.6%, and in the livestock – by 2.7% compared with the corresponding quarter of previous year.
The index of prices of means of production used in agriculture in the fourth quarter of 2011 is 7.6% above the same quarter of 2010.
Household Income, Expenditure and Consumption during the Fourth Quarter of 2011
The average quarterly total income average per household member during the fourth quarter of 2011 is 997 Levs or by 7.8% more compared to the same quarter of 2010.
The total expenditure per household member during the fourth quarter of 2011 is 933 Levs and it increases by 7.3% in relation to the same quarter of 2010.
The consumption of main food products average per capita doesn’t change during the fourth quarter of 2011 compared to the same quarter of 2010.
Gross Domestic Product for the Fourth Quarter of 2011 – Flash Estimates
GDP in the fourth quarter of 2011 increased by 1.5%, compared with the same quarter of the previous year and 0.4% compared with the third quarter of 2011.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in January 2012
According to the preliminary data of the NSI, the consumer price index (CPI) in January 2012 compared to December 2011 was 100.2%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.2%.
According to the preliminary data of the NSI, the harmonized index of consumer prices (HICP) in January 2012 compared to December 2011 was 100.3%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.3%.
Newly Built Residential Buildings and Dwellings Completed in the Fourth Quarter of 2011
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the fourth quarter of 2011 the newly built residential buildings were 928 and compared to the previous quarter increased by 34.5%.
Employees under Labour Contract and Average Wages and Salaries, Fourth Quarter of 2011
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) at the end of December 2011 the number of employees under labour contract decreased by 2.6% as compared to the end of September 2011 and reached to 2.13 millions. In fourth quarter of 2011 in comparison with the third quarter of 2011 the average monthly wages and salaries increased by 4.9% getting 727 levs.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries in 2011 (preliminary data)
In 2011 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 24.4% compared to the previous year and exceeded 14.8 billion levs while the imports increased by 19.2% and amounted to 18.6 billion levs.
In 2011 the total value of the exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 39.3 billion levs and compared to 2010 the exports increased by 29.2% while the total value of all imported goods was 45.1 billion levs and increased by 19.9%.
