Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in May 2013
In May 2013 the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 361.9 thousand or by 3.9% above the registered in May 2012. The trips with other purposes (as guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 45.7%, followed by the trips with holiday and recreation purposes - 31.8% and with professional purposes - 22.5%.
In May 2013, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 634.8 thousand which was by 4.8% above the level in May 2012. An increase was registered in the visits with holiday and recreation purposes - by 10.3% as well in the trips with other purposes - by 3.8%, while the professional visits decreased by 7.3%.
Quarterly Labour Cost Index, First Quarter of 2013
Preliminary data of NSI for the First Quarter of 2013 indicated that total hourly labour cost rose by 4.7% compared to the First Quarter of 2012.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in May 2013
The consumer price index in May 2013 compared to April 2013 was 99.9%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.1%.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments in April 2013
In April 2013, 1 877 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 56.9 thousands and the bed-places were 115.3 thousands. In comparison with April 2012 the total number of accommodation establishments increased by 9.8%, while the bed-places in them decreased by 4.7%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments amounted to 583.4 thousands or by 11.1% less in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent reached 26.4 million BGN or by 11.5% less compared to April 2012.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - April 2013 (preliminary data)
In the period January - April 2013 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 18.3% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 5.7 Billion Levs while the imports grew by 0.9% and added up to 6.5 Billion Levs.
In the period January - April 2013 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 14.1 Billion Levs and compared to the corresponding period of 2012 the exports increased by 15.2% while the total value of all imported goods reached 16.0 Billion Levs and grew by 2.5%.
Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - March 2013 (preliminary data)
In the period January - March 2013 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 13.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 6.1 Billion Levs while the imports from EU grew by 0.9% and added up to 6.9 Billion Levs.
In March 2013 the exports to the EU increased by 6.4% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and exceeded 2.1 Billion Levs while the imports decreased by 9.3% and amounted to 2.3 Billion Levs.
Construction Production Indices in April 2013
According to the preliminary data, in April 2013 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data, was 4.2% above the level of the previous month.
Industrial Production Indices in April 2013
The preliminary data showed that the Industrial Production Index seasonally adjusted increased by 1.1% in April 2013 as compared to March 2013. The working day adjusted Industrial Production Index fall by 1.3% in comparison with the same month of 2012.
Gross Domestic Product for the First Quarter of 2013
According to the seasonally adjusted data, the GDP growth rate in the first quarter of 2013 is 0.4% compared with the same quarter of 2012.
In-patient, Out-patient and Other Health Care Establishments as of 31.12.2012
At the end of 2012 health network in the country covered 339 establishments for hospital aid with 48 308 beds in them. The number of hospitals was 312 with 45 726 beds in them. The number of out-patient health establishments was 1804 with 838 beds and other health establishments were 141 with 4 426 beds.
