Deficit and Debt of General Government Sector in 2012 (preliminary data)
On the basis of preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute the General Government Sector reported in 2012 government deficit of 624 Million BGN or 0.8% of GDP. The Government Debt of Bulgaria for 2012 is 14 390 Million BGN or 18.5% of GDP.
Demographic Processes in 2012
As of 31 December 2012 the population of Bulgaria is 7 282 041 persons or 1.5% of the EU population. Compared to 2011, the country population decreases by 45 183 persons.
There are 69 121 live born children in 2012. The number of live births decreases by 1 725 children compared to the previous year.
The number of dead persons is 109 281 and the crude mortality rate - 15.0‰. Compared to the previous year the number of dead people increases by 1 023.
Households Income, Expenditure and Consumption in 2012
The average annual income per household member in 2012 is 4 541 BGN or 15.3% more compared to 2011.
Bulgarian households have spent 4 058 BGN per person, which is 16.1% more than in 2011.
Statistical data proves the changes in structure of consumption of the Bulgarian households.
Investment Activity in Industry, March 2013
According to the latest data from investment business inquiry the expenditures for acquiring fixed tangible and intangible assets in industry in 2012 are by 2.4% more compared to 2011. The plans of enterprises in the branch in 2013 are also for an increase of investments - by 26.5% in comparison with the previous year.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in March 2013
The consumer price index in March 2013 compared to February 2013 was 99.5%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.5%.
Bulgarian Trade with EU in January 2013 (preliminary data)
In January 2013 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 16.8% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2.0 Billion Levs while the imports decreased by 2.9% and added up to 2.1 Billion Levs.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments in February 2013
In February 2013, 1 834 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 52.5 thousands and the bed-places were 104.8 thousands. In comparison with February 2012 the total number of accommodation establishments increased by 9.1% and the bed-places in them - by 2.7%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments in February 2013 amounted to 667.3 thousands or by 16.5% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent reached 30.5 million BGN or by 10.4% more compared to February 2012.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - February 2013 (preliminary data)
In the period January - February 2013 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 20.2% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 2.8 Billion Levs while the imports grew by 14.1% and added up to 3.3 Billion Levs.
In the period January - February 2013 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 6.7 Billion Levs and compared to the corresponding period of 2012 the exports increased by 18.4% while the total value of all imported goods reached 7.8 Billion Levs and grew by 9.7%.
Construction Production Indices in February 2013
According to the preliminary data, in February 2013 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data, was 0.6% above the level of the previous month.
Industrial Production Indices in February 2013
The preliminary data showed that the Industrial Production Index seasonally adjusted decreased by 2.0% in February 2013 as compared to January 2013. The working day adjusted Industrial Production Index rose by 5.1% in comparison with the same month of 2012.
