Main Labour Force Survey Results for the Second Quarter of 2013
In the second quarter of 2013 the unemployment rate was 12.9%, by 0.6 percentage points higher compared to the same quarter of 2012.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in July 2013
The consumer price index in July 2013 compared to June 2013 was 99.5%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.5%.
Newly Built Residential Buildings and Dwellings Completed in the Second Quarter of 2013 (preliminary data)
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute in the second quarter of 2013 the number of newly built residential buildings was 561. Compared to the second quarter of 2012 they were by 9 more (or by 1.6%) and the registered increase of the newly built dwellings was by 5.4% or 134.
Employees under Labour Contract and Average Wages and Salaries, Second Quarter of 2013
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute (NSI) at the end of June 2013 the number of employees under labour contract increased by 3.4% as compared to the end of March 2013 and reached 2.31 millions. In the second quarter of 2013 in comparison with the first quarter of 2013 the average monthly wages and salaries increased by 2.7% getting 799 Levs.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments in June 2013
In June 2013, 2 547 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places, were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 117.5 thousands and the bed-places were 255.8 thousands. In comparison with June 2012 the total number of accommodation establishments increased by 10.7% and the bed-places in them - by 5.6%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments amounted to 3 466.3 thousands or by 11.0% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent reached 129.7 million BGN or by 12.2% more compared to June 2012.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - June 2013 (preliminary data)
In the period January - June 2013 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 9.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 8.6 Billion Levs while the imports decreased by 2.2% and added up to 10.0 Billion Levs.
In the period January - June 2013 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 20.8 Billion Levs and compared to the corresponding period of 2012 the exports increased by 7.8% while the total value of all imported goods reached 24.4 Billion Levs and decreased by 1.0%.
Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - May 2013 (preliminary data)
In the period January - May 2013 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 7.5% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 10.2 Billion Levs while the imports from EU grew by 0.5% and added up to 11.9 Billion Levs.
In May 2013 the exports to the EU decreased by 12.0% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 1.9 Billion Levs while the imports decreased by 11.6% and added up to 2.4 Billion Levs.
Construction Production Indices in June 2013
According to the preliminary data, in June 2013 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.1% below the level of the previous month.
Industrial Production Indices in June 2013
According to the preliminary data the Industrial Production Index seasonally adjusted increased by 0.8% in June 2013 as compared to May 2013. The working day adjusted Industrial Production Index fall by 4.4% in comparison with the same month of 2012.
Consumer Survey, July 2013
In July 2013 the total consumer confidence indicator decreases by 2.1 percentage points compared to its level 3 months ago which is due to the decreased confidence of both urban and rural inhabitants - by 1.5 and 4.0 percentage points respectively.
