Quarterly Labour Cost Index, Third Quarter of 2013
Preliminary data of NSI for the third quarter of 2013 indicated that the total hourly labour cost has risen by 2.8% compared to the third quarter of 2012.
Poverty and Social Inclusion Indicators (Data for 2011)
The poverty line for 2011 is BGN 279.67 average per month per household. At this amount of the poverty line 1 558.8 thousand persons or 21.2% of the population were below the poverty threshold. This is what the data from the 2012 survey on “Social Inclusion and Living Conditions” (EU-SILC) shows.
Main Results from Surveyes on the Information Society in Enterprises in 2013
In January 2013 the relative share of enterprises having internet access reached 89.1%, or with 1.7 percentage points more in comparison with the previous year. Information communication technology was most widely used by the largest enterprises (250 or more employed), 99.1% of them had an internet access, while in small enterprises (10 – 49 employed) this relative share was 87.4%. More than half of the enterprises (52.3%) maintained their own webpage or website.
Main Results from the Survey on ICT Usage in Households and by Individuals in 2013
The results of the survey on the information communication technology usage by households and individuals for 2013 show that more than a half of the households (53.7%) in Bulgaria had access to the internet at home, which was a growth of 2.8 percentage point, compared to the previous year. There also was a stable trend for growth of the regular usage of internet by individuals and 51.2% of the population aged 16-74 years was using internet every day or at least once a week.
Economic Accounts for Agriculture for 2013 (First Estimation)
According to the first estimates on economic accounts for agriculture of the National Statistical Institute, prepared as of November 2013, the real income index (net value added at factor cost) in agriculture has decreased by 0.3% as compared with 2012.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in November 2013
The consumer price index in November 2013 compared to October 2013 was 99.8%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.2%.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments in October 2013
In October 2013, 1 898 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 67.4 thousands and the bed-places were 138.7 thousands. In comparison with October 2012 the total number of accommodation establishments increased by 6.9% and the bed-places in them - by 3.8%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in October 2013 was 717.6 thousands or by 10.3% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent in October 2013 reached 33.3 million BGN or by 13.5% more compared to October 2012.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - October 2013 (preliminary data)
In the period January - October 2013 the Bulgarian exports to third countries increased by 5.1% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 14.5 Billion BGN while the imports decreased by 1.6% and added up to 17.0 Billion BGN.
In the period January - October 2013 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 36.4 Billion BGN and compared to the corresponding period of 2012 the exports increased by 7.8% while the total value of all imported goods added up to 42.0 Billion BGN and increased by 0.9%.
Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - September 2013 (preliminary data)
In the period January - September 2013 the Bulgarian exports to the EU increased by 9.0% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 19.5 Billion BGN while the imports from EU grew by 2.5% and added up to 22.2 Billion BGN.
In September 2013 the exports to the EU increased by 15.8% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2.5 Billion BGN while the imports increased by 18.5% and added up to 2.8 Billion BGN.
Construction Production Indices in October 2013
According to the preliminary data, in October 2013 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.5% above the level of the previous month. The working day adjusted index of production in construction decreased by 7.8% in comparison with the same month of 2012.
