Tourist Trips and Tourism-related Expenditure of the Population in First Quarter of 2016 (preliminary data)
In the first quarter of 2016, 550.2 thousands Bulgarian residents made tourist trips. The majority (83.5%) of them travelled only within the country, 14.0% - only abroad and 2.5% - both in the country and abroad. Compared to the same quarter of 2015 the total number of the travelled persons aged 15 and over decreased by 4.8%, as a reduction was observed in the number of the Bulgarian residents travelled in the country - by 5.0% as well as in the number of persons travelled abroad by 3.5%.
Price Indices in Agriculture, First Quarter of 2016
The producer price index in agriculture in the first quarter of 2016 decreased by 5.0% in comparison with the same quarter of 2015. The crop output index decreased by 1.8% and the animal output index - by 7.5%. In comparison with previous year the prices of agricultural output went down by 3.6 %. The crop output index decreased by 3.6% and the animal output index - by 3.5%.
The index of prices of goods and services currently consumed in agriculture in the first quarter of 2016 was 0.1% below the level in the same quarter of previous year and by 3.3% compared to 2015.
Main Labour Force Survey Results for the First Quarter of 2016
In the first quarter of 2016 the employment rate of population aged 20 - 64 was 66.5% and the unemployment rate was 8.6%.
Employees under Labour Contract and Average Wages and Salaries, First Quarter of 2016
According to the preliminary data of the National Statistical Institute at the end of March 2016 the number of employees under labour contract increased by 2.6% as compared to the end of December 2015 and reached 2.28 million.
In the first quarter of 2016 in comparison with the fourth quarter of 2015 the average monthly wages and salaries increased by 1.7% getting 931 BGN.
Household Income, Expenditure and Consumption during the First Quarter of 2016
The total income average per household member during the first quarter of 2016 is 1 237 BGN and increases by 4.2% compared to the same quarter of 2015.
The total expenditure average per household member during the first quarter of 2016 is 1 110 BGN and increases by 0.9% in comparison with the same quarter of 2015.
The consumption of some main food products average per capita changes during the first quarter of 2016 compared to the first quarter of 2015.

Life expectancy at birth for male population is 71.1 years, while for female it is 6.9 years higher - 78.0 years.

According to the seasonally adjusted data, the GDP growth rate in the first quarter of 2016 is 2.9% compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in April 2016
The consumer price index in April 2016 compared to March 2016 was 100.0%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.0%.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments in March 2016
In March 2016, 1 919 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 56.8 thousand and the bed-places were 115.8 thousand. In comparison with March 2015 the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) decreased by 3.2%, while the bed-places in them increased by 2.4%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in March 2016 was 742.2 thousand, or by 11.4% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The total revenues from nights spent in March 2016 reached 35.0 million BGN or by 8.8% more compared to March 2015.
Creches in 2015
The number of detached crèches and groups in kindergartens functioning in the country as of 31.12.2015 was 812 with 32 040 places in them. The number of places in the country has increased with 1 516, or with 5.0% compared to the previous year.
The number of children accommodated in crèches at the end of the year was 32 124. 16 497 of them were boys, and - 15 627 girls.
