Building Permits Issued and Construction of New Buildings Started in the Second Quarter of 2016

In the second quarter of 2016, the municipal authorities issued building permits for construction of 1 216 residential buildings with 4 438 dwellings, of 37 administrative buildings/offices and 1 145 other buildings. The construction of 836 residential buildings with 2 961 dwellings, of 23 administrative buildings/offices and 573 other buildings was started.

In May 2016 compared to April 2016 an increase is reported for the production of unleaded motor gasoline - by 4.6%, transport diesel - by 9.6%, natural gas - by 16.7%, and electricity - by 5.1%. At the same time a decrease is reported for the production of liquefied petroleum gases - by 11.1%. No change is reported for the production of solid fuels.

In May 2016 compared to April 2016 a decrease is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels - by 0.3%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 8.3%, transport diesel - by 6.1%, natural gas - by 0.4%, and electricity - by 0.5%. No change is reported for the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases.

Producer Price Indices in Industry, June 2016

Total Producer Price Index in June 2016 increased by 0.6% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2015 the prices went down by 4.5%. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in June 2016 rose by 0.4% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2015 the domestic prices fell by 4.2%.

In July 2016 the total business climate indicator decreases by 0.9 percentage points compared to previous month. More unfavourable business climate is registered in service sector, while in industry and retail trade - remains approximately to its June level. Only in construction the business conjuncture is improved.

Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in June 2016

In June 2016, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 565.2 thousand or by 20.7% above the registered in June 2015. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in June 2016 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 41.8%, followed by the trips with holiday and recreation purpose - 32.6%, and with professional purpose - 25.6%.

In June 2016, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 355.0 thousand or by 19.5% above the level of June 2015. An increase was registered in the trips with professional purpose - by 61.4%, and with holiday and recreation purpose - by 24.6%, while the trips with other purposes remained approximately the same level of the previous year.

Bulgarian Trade with EU in the Period January - April 2016 (preliminary data)

In the period January - April 2016 the Bulgarian exports to the EU grew by 3.3% compared to the same period of 2015 and amounted to 9 595.2 Million BGN while the imports from the EU decreased by 1.3% and reached 10 549.1 Million BGN.

In April 2016 the exports to the EU increased by 5.5% in comparison with the corresponding month of the previous year and amounted to 2 535.3 Million BGN while the imports added up to 2 695.4 Million BGN and dropped by 6.0%.

Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - May 2016 (preliminary data)

In the period January - May 2016 the Bulgarian exports to third countries decreased by 15.4% compared to the same period of 2015 and amounted to 5 752.7 Million BGN while the imports dropped by 17.4% and added up to 6 417.3 Million BGN.

In the period January - May 2016 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 17 743.6 Million BGN and in comparison with the corresponding period of the previous year the exports decreased by 3.5% while the total value of all imported goods added up to 19 568.8 Million BGN and dropped by 7.0%.
