Bulgaria and EU: Gross Domestic Product, fourth quarter of 2019 (preliminary estimates)
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the fourth quarter of 2019 increased by 0.2% in the EU-27 compared to the previous quarter by seasonally adjusted data. For the same period, GDP in Bulgaria increased by 0.8%.
Construction Production Indices in January 2020
According to the preliminary data, in January 2020 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.8% above the level of the previous month. In January 2020 the working day adjusted index of production in construction increased by 1.7% in comparison with the same month of 2019.
Turnover Indices in 'Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles' in January 2020
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in January 2020 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices decreased by 0.4% compared to the previous month. The working day adjusted turnover rise by 3.2% as compared to the same month of the previous year.
Industrial Production Indices in January 2020
According to the preliminary data in January 2020 the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, increased by 1.6% as compared to December 2019. In January 2020 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index decreased by 0.7% in comparison with the same month of 2019.
Regional GDP per capita in the EU in 2018
In 2018, regional GDP per capita, expressed in terms of purchasing power standards (PPS), ranged from 30% of the European Union (EU) average in Mayotte, an overseas region of France, to 263% in Luxembourg.

Goods and passengers carried and transport performance by mode of transport in the fourth quarter of 2019 (preliminary data)
According to preliminary data during the fourth quarter of 2019 in comparison with the same period of 2018 there was a decrease both in the goods carried and in the transport performance by the freight land and water transport.
In the fourth quarter of 2019 the transported passengers and the transport performance by passenger transport (land, water and urban electrical transport) increased compared to the same period of the previous year, respectively by 1.4% and 12.3%.
Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, December 2019
In December 2019 compared to November 2019 an increase is reported for the production of solid fuels - by 9.4% and electricity - by 7.5%. During the same period, a decrease is reported for the production of liquefied petroleum gases - by 16.7% and transport diesel - by 3.6%. No change for the production of unleaded motor gasoline, but a growth is observed for the production of natural gas because of increased indigenous extraction.
In December 2019 compared to November 2019 an increase is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels - by 9.1%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 17.1%, transport diesel - by 5.1%, natural gas - by 29.0%, and electricity - by 18.2%. During the same period, a decrease is reported for the deliveries of unleaded motor gasoline - by 17.5%.
