Income, Expenditure and Consumption of Households in 2019
The annual total income average per capita is 6 592 BGN in 2019 and increases by 9.6% compared to 2018.
The Bulgarian households are spend 6 214 BGN average per capita in 2019 or by 7.7% more compared to 2018.
Statistical data show changes in the household consumption structure in Bulgaria in 2019 compared to 2018.
Investment Activity in Industry, March 2020
The investment business inquiry of NSI carried out among industrial enterprises in March 2020 shows that in 2019 the expenditures for acquiring fixed tangible and intangible assets in industry are preserved compared to 2018. However, the plans of industrial enterprises in 2020 are for a decrease of investments by 21.8% in comparison with the previous year.
Population and Demographic Processes in 2019
As of 31 December 2019 the population of Bulgaria is 6 951 482 persons, representing 1.4% of the EU population. Compared to 2018, the population decreases by 48 557 persons.
There are 61 538 live born children in 2019. The number of live births decreases by 659 compared to the previous year.
The number of deaths in 2019 is 108 083 and the crude mortality rate - 15.5‰. Compared to the previous year the number of deaths decreases by 443.
Bulgarian Trade with EU in January 2020 (preliminary data)
In January 2020 the Bulgarian exports to the EU grew by 4.4% compared to the same month of 2019 and amounted to 3 314.7 Million BGN while the imports from the EU increased by 4.9% and reached 3 150.2 Million BGN.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries in the Period January - February 2020 (preliminary data)
In the period January - February 2020 the exports of goods from Bulgaria to third countries decreased by 0.1% compared to the same period of 2019 and amounted to 3 298.9 Million BGN while the imports of goods from third countries dropped by 0.9% and added up to 4 207.9 Million BGN.
In the period January - February 2020 the total value of all exported goods to third countries and EU amounted to 9 666.5 Million BGN, which is 2.7% more than the same period of the previous year, while the total value of all imported goods from third countries and EU added up to 10 500.2 Million BGN and grew by 1.5%.
Activity of accommodation establishments in February 2020
In February 2020, 1 874 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed-places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 55.2 thousand and the bed-places were 112.3 thousand. In comparison with February 2019, the total number of accommodation establishments (functioned during the period) increased by 0.3% and the bed-places in them - by 0.9%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in February 2020 was 1 053.5 thousand, or by 16.5% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
The total revenues from nights spent in February 2020 reached 60.9 million BGN or by 18.4% more compared to February 2019.
Construction Production Indices in February 2020
According to the preliminary data, in February 2020 the index of production in section ‘Construction’ calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data was 0.6% below the level of the previous month. In February 2020 the working day adjusted index of production in construction decreased by 1.1% in comparison with the same month of 2019.
Turnover Indices in 'Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles' in February 2020
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in February 2020 the turnover in ‘Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles’ at constant prices increased by 0.9% compared to the previous month.
Industrial Production Indices in February 2020
According to the preliminary data in February 2020 the Industrial Production Index, seasonally adjusted, rose by 1.1% as compared to January 2020. In February 2020 the working day adjusted Industrial Production Index increased by 0.1% in comparison with the same month of 2019.
