The President of the National Statistical Institute Assoc. Prof. Atanas Atanasov, PhD opened the first meeting of the inter-institutional working group for coordination of development and updating of the national indicator framework for monitoring and reporting on progress towards the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The meeting, attended by more than 50 people - live and online, was held in a hybrid format in the Granite Hall of the Council of Ministers. The meeting was attended by Assoc. Prof.

The National Statistical Institute and The Bulgarian Stock Exchange Group will cooperate in sharing and providing quick and easy access to data and services for all users. This is provided for in an agreement signed by the President of the National Statistical Institute Assoc. Prof. Atanas Atanasov, Ph.D. and the management of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange Group - Assoc. Prof. Manyu Moravenov, Ph.D.

May 15 was declared International Family Day by a Decision of the UN General Assembly on September 20, 1993, and it has been officially celebrated since 1994. The holiday provides an opportunity to promote issues related to families and to raise awareness of the social, economic and demographic processes that affect them. Each year, a different theme is announced to commemorate that day. In 2023, the theme is 'Families and Urbanization'.

Twenty-seven high schools teams from Sofia, Varna, Plovdiv, Burgas, Pernik, Pazardzhik, Kozloduy, Troyan, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Silistra and Shumen participated in the first Statistical Datathon for students.

In the new competition organized by the National Statistical Institute, 10th to 12th-grade students from secondary schools in the country have the right to compete.

According to the Statistics Act, all individuals who have carried out economic activity during the accounting year have an obligation to submit an Annual Activity Report (AAR) to the National Statistical Institute (NSI).

The National Statistical Institute announces the first edition of the Statistical Datathon for students. Registration opens on April 24 and runs through May 8, 2023.

Assoc. Prof. Atanas Atanasov, PhD, President of the National Statistical Institute, participated in “The Statistical Leadership in Emerging Digital Societies" meeting that took place in Stockholm last week. Organizers of the forum are Statistics Sweden and Eurostat. The meeting of the presidents and the directors general of the statistical institutes took place as part of the Swedish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

IMPORTANT: The Business Statistics Information System now allows the submission of annual reports for previous years (2019, 2020 and 2021) for which the official submission deadline has already passed.
