The National Statistical Institute of the Republic of Bulgaria and the National Statistics Office of Georgia signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of statistics

On February 3, 2016 in Tbilisi, Georgia, the National Statistical Institute of the Republic of Bulgaria and the National Statistics Office of Georgia signed an Agreement on cooperation in the field of statistics. On the Bulgarian side the Agreement was signed by Ms. Diana Yancheva, Deputy President of the National Statistical Institute, and on the Georgian one by Ms. Meri Daushvili, Executive Director of the National Statistics Office.

An article with statistical data on marriages, divorces and births in Bulgaria at the beginning of the 21st century is published in Bulgarian and English in Statistics Explained - web-based system for online dissemination of Eurostat publications. National Statistical Institute of Bulgaria has participated in the pilot project implemented by Eurostat together with the Member States.

Meeting of the National Statistical Council

The National Statistical Council (NSC) at the second meeting for this year, held on November 30, 2015, discussed and adopted the Report on the implementation of the National Statistical Programme and the Activity of the NSI in 2015.

The Draft National Statistical Programme for 2016 prepared by the NSI was discussed and adopted also. The National Statistical Programme envisages 248 statistical surveys and activities to be carried out by the National Statistical Institute and respectively 46 statistical surveys and activities - by the Bodies of statistics.

Meeting of the National Statistical Council

On November 30 2015 at 14 p.m. in the premises of the NSI, under the chairmanship of Prof. Hristina Vucheva a meeting of the National Statistical Council (NSC), which is the highest advisory body in the field of statistics at the national level will be held.

The Report on the implementation of the National Statistical Programme and the Activity of the NSI in 2015 will be presented and discussed at the meeting.

NSI automatizes the processing of requests for statistical information

The National Statistical Institute completed a project under OPAC for building an Information system for citizens and firms trough automatic fulfilment of on-line requests for statistical information

The project ”Development of instruments for possibilities of on-line definition and fulfilment of requests for statistical information by the BNSI website for citizens, businesses and administration through compilation of information from the BNSI surveys, tables’ generation and check of data confidentiality” was presented.

The European Statistical System Committee meets on 19 November 2015

On 19 November 2015 at Eurostat, Luxembourg, the 27th meeting of the European Statistical Committee (ESSC) will be held. This is the fourth and the last ESSC meeting for this year. It is chaired by Eurostat and attended by the Heads of the National Statistical Institutes of the EU Member States and representatives of ECB, OECD and EFTA countries. Mr. Sergey Tsvetarsky, President of the National Statistical Institute, will participate in the meeting on behalf of Bulgaria.
