Projects

The National Statistical Institute is a partner in a project ‘Improving institutional capacities and fostering cooperation to tackle the impacts of transnational youth migration (YOUMIG)’, which is realized by the Danube Transnational Programme (Interreg - Danube Transnational Programme - ERDF) and it is aimed at evaluation of youth migration and measurement of well-being of youth in the region.

In January 2017 the National Statistical Institute has started the ‘Big Data Pilots – II’ under the ESSnet project on Big Data according to a Grant agreement № № 11104.2016.010-2016.756 of the European Commission.

The National Statistical Institute has started a project ‘Statistics on the Information Society 2017’ in accordance with the Grant agreement with the European Commission No. 06163.2016.003-2016.439. The project includes conducting of two separate surveys - ‘Survey on ICT usage in households and by individuals’ and ‘Survey on ICT usage and e-commerce in enterprises’.

The National Statistical Institute will host a training of 12 young statisticians from the Republic of Azerbaijan, organized jointly with the Centre for Statistical Studies at the University of National and World Economy – Sofia. The training will be implemented in the framework of ongoing Agreement for bilateral cooperation in the field of statistics between the National Statistical Institute of the Republic of Bulgaria and the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The National Statistical Institute hosts the fourth study visit of experts from the State Statistical Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan within the twinning project AZ/14/ENP/ST/32 “Support to the State Statistical Committee in Harmonisation of the National Statistics System of the Republic of Azerbaijan in line with EU standards”. The training is part of Component 4 on the project “Statistics on disabled and invalid persons” and its duration is five days (17 - 21 October 2016). The topic of the mission is “European Health and Social Integration Survey”.

The National Statistical Institute has started work on the ‘Labour Force Survey 2017 ad hoc module on self-employment’ project. The implementation of the project is according to the Grant Agreement with the European Commission No. 07131.2016.001-2016.300.

The National Statistical Institute has started the Census of the Bulgarian companies carrying out e-commerce and have an active presence in social media under the ESSnet project on Big Data ‘Big Data Pilots – I’.

In August 2016 the National Statistical Institute has started a project ‘Setting up production processes for new indices of services production (ISP) - implementation of Short-term Statistics (STS)’ according to a Grant agreement 06131.2016.001-2016.218 of the European Commission.
