In the third quarter of 2012, the municipal authorities have issued building permits for construction of 1 159 residential buildings with 2 715 dwellings, of 46 administrative buildings/offices and 1 257 other buildings. The construction of 660 residential buildings with 1 378 dwellings, of 26 administrative buildings/offices and 588 other buildings has been started.
Production of solid fuels in September 2012 compared to August 2012 increases by 13.5%. A decrease is reported for the production of unleaded motor gasoline by 10.0%, transport diesel - by 3.4% and electricity - by 4.4%. There is no change in the production of liquefied petroleum gases.
Deliveries of solid fuels in September 2012 compared to August 2012 increase by 12.7%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 6.1%, transport diesel - by 3.0% and natural gas - by 22.0%. A decrease is reported for the deliveries of unleaded motor gasoline by 13.8% and electricity - by 8.9%.
Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in September 2012 increased by 0.3% compared to the previous month, while compared to the same month of 2011 the domestic prices grew by 6.6%. Total Producer Price Index rose by 0.9% compared to the previous month, compared to the same month of 2011 the prices went up by 5.4%.
In October 2012 the total business climate indicator decreases by 2.7 percentage points compared to its level from the previous month due to the more unfavourable business climate in all observed sectors - industry, construction, retail trade and service sector.
In September 2012 the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 334.0 thousand as compared to August 2012 and September 2011 a decrease was registered by 19.1% and 8.7% respectively.
The market price index of the dwellings for the third quarter of 2012 compared to the second quarter of 2012 was 99.5%, i.e. the average decrease of the market prices of the dwellings was 0.5 %.
On the basis of final data of the National Statistical Institute the General Government Sector reported in 2011 government deficit of 1 535 Million BGN or 2.0% of GDP. The Government Debt of Bulgaria for 2011 is 12 290 Million BGN or 16.3% of GDP.
In 2011 the total amount of the expenditure on research and development activity (R&D) was 429.6 million BGN or by 1.9% more in comparison with the previous year, as their growth compared to the previous years in absolute value had no impact on the R&D intensity (R&D expenditure as % of GDP) which is one of the key indicators for measuring progress of the European Union (EU) in achieving the targets of the new Europe 2020 strategy - a strategy for smart, sustainable and inclusive growth.
The consumer price index in September 2012 compared to August 2012 was 101.1%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 1.1%. The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (September 2012 compared to December 2011) had been 3.7%.
The harmonized index of consumer prices in September 2012 compared to August 2012 was 100.3%, i.e. the monthly inflation was 0.3%. The inflation rate since the beginning of the year (September 2012 compared to December 2011) had been 2.8%.
