Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in June 2014
In June 2014, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 411.1 thousand or by 7.3% above the registered in June 2013. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in June 2014 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 48.9%, followed by the trips with professional purpose - 26.7%, and with holiday and recreation purposes - 24.4%.
In June 2014, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 1 176.5 thousands or by 1.0% above the level of June 2013. An increase was registered in the trips with professional purpose - by 16.3%, and with holiday and recreation purpose - by 3.0%, while the trips with other purposes decreased by 8.3%.
Business Conjuncture, July 2014
In July 2014 the total business climate indicator decreases by 3.2 percentage points compared to its level from the previous month due to the more unfavourable business climate in all observed sectors - industry, construction, retail trade and service sector.
Market Price Indices of Dwellings for the Second Quarter of 2014
The market price index of the dwellings for the second quarter of 2014 compared to the first quarter of 2014 was 100.3%, i.e. the average increase of the market prices of the dwellings was 0.3%
Crimes, Accused Persons and Persons Convicted in 2013 (preliminary data)
According to the National Statistical Institute’s preliminary data, the trials of 37 238 committed crimes were proceeded in 2013. Proceedings of 17 972 crimes were ended with effective sentences, of 13 427 crimes - with conditional sentences, of 1 019 crimes - with acquittal sentences, of 101 crimes - with suspension and of 4 719 crimes - with release of penalty.
Proceedings of 31 399 committed crimes were ended with penalties. That was 8.3% less in comparison with 2012.
The number of accused persons in 2013 was 40 427.
The number of persons convicted with penalties came into force was 34 209 in 2013. Compared to 2012 a decrease of the number of persons convicted was observed by 10.0%.
Inflation and Consumer Price Indices in June 2014
The consumer price index in June 2014 compared to May 2014 was 99.6%, i.e. the monthly inflation was -0.4%.
Activity of Accommodation Establishments in May 2014
In May 2014, 2 185 accommodation establishments - hotels, motels, camping sites, mountain chalets and other establishments for short-term accommodation with more than 10 bed places were functioned in the country. The total number of the rooms in them was 99.6 thousands and the bed-places were 208.5 thousands. In comparison with May 2013 the total number of accommodation establishments increased by 2.4% and the bed-places in them - by 4.6%.
The total number of the nights spent in all accommodation establishments registered in May 2014 was 1 212.0 thousands or by 2.4% more in comparison with the same month of the previous year. The total revenues from nights spent in May 2014 reached 51.8 million BGN or by 9.6% more compared to May 2013.
Bulgarian Trade with Third Countries for the Period January - May 2014 (preliminary data)
In the period January - May 2014 the Bulgarian exports to third countries decreased by 14.8% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 6.1 Billion BGN while the imports decreased by 5.2% and added up to 7.8 Billion BGN.
In the period January - May 2014 the total value of all exported goods (both for third countries and EU) amounted to 16.4 Billion BGN and compared to the corresponding period of 2013 the exports decreased by 5.4% while the total value of all imported goods added up to 20.1 Billion BGN and decreased by 0.1%.
Bulgarian Trade with EU for the Period January - April 2014 (preliminary data)
In the period January - April 2014 the Bulgarian exports to the EU decreased by 0.9% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year and amounted to 8.3 Billion BGN while the imports increased by 4.6% and added up to 9.9 Billion BGN.
In April 2014 the exports to the EU decreased by 3.5% compared to the corresponding month of the previous year and added up to 2.1 Billion BGN while the imports increased by 0.6% and amounted to 2.6 Billion BGN.
Construction Production Indices in May 2014
According to the preliminary data, in May 2014 the index of production in section ‘Construction’, calculated on the base of seasonally adjusted data, was 1.7% above the level of the previous month. In May 2014 the working day adjusted index of production in construction an increased by 6.2% in comparison with the same month of 2013.
Turnover Indices in 'Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles' in May 2014
According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data in May 2014 the turnover in Retail trade, except of motor vehicles and motorcycles at constant prices decreased by 0.1% compared to the previous month.
