Bulgaria and EU: Gross Domestic Product, third quarter of 2019 (preliminary estimates)
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in the third quarter of 2019 increased by 0.3% in the EU-28 compared to the previous quarter by seasonally adjusted data. For the same period, GDP in Bulgaria increased by 0.8%.
Labor productivity, persons employed and hours worked for the Third Quarter of 2019
According to the preliminary data, GDP per person employed increased by 3.0% in the third quarter of 2019 compared to the same quarter of the previous year.
Gross Domestic Product for the Third Quarter of 2019 (preliminary data)
According to the seasonally adjusted data, the GDP growth rate in the third quarter of 2019 is 3.7% compared with the same quarter of 2018 according to the preliminary estimates.
Goods and passengers carried and transport performance by mode of transport in the third quarter of 2019 (preliminary data)
According to preliminary data during the third quarter of 2019 in comparison with the same period of 2018 there was a decrease both in the goods carried and in the transport performance by the freight land and water transport.
In the third quarter of 2019 the transported passengers and the transport performance by passenger transport (land, water and urban electrical transport) increased compared to the same period of the previous year, respectively by 6.6% and 7.3%.
Production and Deliveries of Energy Products, September 2019
In September 2019 compared to August 2019 an increase is reported for the production of solid fuels - by 23.0%, liquefied petroleum gases - by 18.2% and transport diesel - by 1.1%. During the same period, a decrease is reported for the production of unleaded motor gasoline - by 5.6% and electricity - by 10.0%. No change for the production of natural gas.
In September 2019 compared to August 2019 an increase is reported for the deliveries of solid fuels - by 20.0% and natural gas - by 6.0%. A decrease is reported for the deliveries of liquefied petroleum gases - by 11.6%, unleaded motor gasoline - by 7.8%, transport diesel - by 1.4% and electricity - by 6.4%.
Producer Price Indices in Industry, October 2019
Total Producer Price Index in October 2019 decreased by 0.1% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2018 the prices rose by 2.3%. Producer Price Index on Domestic Market in October 2019 rose by 0.1% compared to the previous month; compared to the same month of 2018 the domestic prices grew by 3.8%.
Business Conjuncture, November 2019
In November 2019, the total business climate indicator increases by 1.2 percentage points in comparison with October which is due to the improved conjuncture in construction and retail trade.
Trips of Bulgarian Residents Abroad and Arrivals of Visitors from Abroad to Bulgaria in October 2019
In October 2019, the number of the trips of Bulgarian residents abroad was 473.3 thousand or by 4.1% above the registered in October 2018. The trips with other purposes (as a guest, education and visit the cultural and sport events) in October 2019 composed the greatest share of the total number of trips of Bulgarian residents abroad - 44.0%, followed by those with professional purpose - 28.7%, and with holiday and recreation purposes - 27.3%.
In October 2019, the number of arrivals of visitors from abroad to Bulgaria was 766.4 thousand or by 3.7% more in comparison with October 2018. In October 2019, the predominant share of the visits with other purposes was 45.4%, followed by trips with holiday and recreation purpose - 35.8%, and with professional purpose - 18.8%.
Turnover Indices in Services in the Third Quarter of 2019
According to the preliminary data for the third quarter of 2019 the total turnover index in section ‘Transportation, storage and post’, calculated on the basis of seasonally adjusted data decreased by 0.6% compared to the second quarter of 2019. In section ‘Information and communication’ the turnover index grew by 3.2%.
Tourist Trips and Tourism-related Expenditure of the Population in Third Quarter of 2019 (preliminary data)
In the third quarter of 2019, 1 733.9 thousand Bulgarian residents made tourist trips. The majority (75.6%) of them travelled only within the country, 20.5% - only abroad and 3.9% - both in the country and abroad. Compared to the same quarter of 2018 the total number of the travelled persons aged 15 and over decreased by 7.9%.
